The Frank Grisanti Athlete of the Week recipients for the
week April 23, 2018 are as follows...
7/8 Coach Pitch Division: Cooper
Liddell - Yankees
Coaches Comments: Cooper has
played catcher every inning this season.
He loves it. He has worked
extremely hard. He scored his first run
of the season last game. He never
complains. He answers yes sir to every instruction.
Four times this week, he gave encouragement to kids on the other team. Twice I heard him say, “Good hit” to a kid
who hit a hard foul ball. The other
times he was comforting kids who struck out.
I could not think of a more deserving young man.
9/10 Division: Sutton Alley - Angels
Coaches Comments: Sutton has shown great willingness to play
multiple positions and do what his coaches ask of him. He showed composure and confidence in his
first time to pitch in a game. Sutton
always gives good effort and his pitching performance was no different this
past week. Sutton is a coachable kid that listens to instructions and wants to
improve. He is a great leader and role model for our team.
11/12 Division: Will Chandler - Dbacks
Coaches Comments: Will maintains a
positive attitude at all times even if we are facing any adversity on the
field. He does not get down and moves on
to the next play. He never questions
where he plays and always encourages his teammates. As one of the 11 year olds on the team, he
displays a lot of maturity for his age.
Lastly, I am fairly certain he gets his dad to work with him outside of
practice so he can be a better player.
13/14 Division: Thomas Miller - Cubs
Coaches Comments: In our only game this
week, Thomas went 2-2 as our leadoff hitter. He also got beaned by a 60mph
fastball. He scored 3 of our 4 runs. He also made 2 phenomenal plays as 1B.
However, most impressive was his willingness to volunteer for our team's Friday
concessions duty. He showed great initiative in setting up the grill and
serving as grill master for over 2 hours.
